Old friends, new times
A friend's mom contacted me on facebook mentioning that she and said old friend were going to be in the area and if I was interested in joining them. It had been years since we had hung out, and I wasn't sure how things were going to go. Worries were thrown aside, and the overall feeling was 1995. The unattractive glasses and awkwardness were missing, and replaced with wisdom, and inappropriate jokes.

Harlot!
In the mornings on my days off, I walk to the neighborhood bean shop. Lately, I noticed there's a gypsy looking lady that hangs out and sips her iced coffee. While I was pouring my usual glass of water, she grabbed my arm, allowing water to spill onto the counter, handed me a small booklet. At first, I thought a curse was about to be cast in my general direction. Instead, she mumbled about the lord in her eastern European accent, then went about her day of giving he half eaten sandwich to a not homeless but shaggy guy, then grabbed the leg of a guy on crutches so she could pray for him. A good morning, indeed.

Wayfarer chapel
Lloyd Wright, son of the guy you don't need me to tell you, is the architect. Its all glass and wood, and massive pines engulf the chapel as a peaceful blanket. Its open daily for meditation and services. A friend from the past was in town with her mom, and we met up here, then went to the tide pools. A beautiful day all around.
